History of Meijo Shuzo – Meijo Shuzo was founded in 1966 by the merger of six breweries in Himeji City The company’s name “Meijo” comes from Himeji Castle, a World Heritage Site. Inspired by the castle’s noble white appearance, we also cultivate sake with a clean, crisp taste with all our heart. This is supported by the climate and water rooted in Banshu, and the skills of our craftsmen. By combining traditional methods with modern technology and utilizing the strengths of each, we pursue a taste that is unique to Meijo Shuzo .
